Imagine a world where every young person believes in their potential to lead change. In small villages around Itarsi, Madhya Pradesh, many adolescents grow up with limited opportunities to explore leadership, life skills, or community engagement. Their dreams often remain unfulfilled due to lack of guidance and resources. At Bharat Calling, we are determined to change this by creating pathways of empowerment for rural youth.

The Future Leadership Program is a unique 3-month initiative designed to nurture 20 adolescents, aged 12–18, into confident leaders and socially responsible citizens. Through hands-on learning, real-life problem-solving, and small-scale action projects, participants not only build essential life skills but also become champions of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This program focuses on five critical SDGs:

• Good Health & Well-being (SDG 3)
• Quality Education (SDG 4)
• Gender Equality (SDG 5)
• Clean Water & Sanitation (SDG 6)
• Responsible Consumption & Production (SDG 12)

In just three months, participants go through intensive workshops on public speaking, teamwork, and decision-making. They engage in field visits to understand real community challenges and design youth-led projects that directly benefit local people. Each adolescent receives mentorship, skill-building guidance, and an opportunity to present their work at a recognition event.

The power of this program lies in its impact stories. Savita, a young participant, once led a sanitation campaign in her village, inspiring families to adopt clean water practices. Mohit, another participant, used communication tools from the program to mend his strained relationship with his father, bringing harmony to his family. Nainka overcame her fears of interacting with transgender individuals and became an advocate for gender sensitivity in her school. Poonam, after living with restricted electricity and water, turned into an advocate for responsible consumption, teaching families how to segregate waste and make compost.

Now, we want to replicate and scale such change by empowering 20 more young leaders this year. The program cost is ₹3,57,735, which covers trainers’ honorarium, mentoring support, field visits, training materials, and recognition for the participants. Every rupee you contribute goes directly into building skills and opportunities for these youth.
